May Tarpon Fishing

Hey everybody! It's Captain Drew Nobregas with another Islamorada Fishing Report. May has brought with it some amazing weather and great big schools of tarpon! We've really had a great bite the last few days especially.

These big tarpon are averaging 40-150lbs and we've fought a few GIANTS in the triple digits. These bigger fish will stay around until June/July before they make their move on elsewhere. Around the summer we still catch plenty of tarpon, although most are in the 10-50lb range during that

time. We catch them on various baits including artificials just depending on the situation.

Besides tarpon we have been catching some very respectable mangrove snappers. Snappers are the preferred target species this time of year when you're looking to bring home dinner. It's great action too because you'll get a bite on just about every cast most of the time. We also catch snook. jacks, and sharks that pose as tons of fun for the kids.

With nice weather the fishing has followed suit. It is a very busy time for me so the easiest way to contact for any charter information is to text me at (305) 393-2332.

Tight Lines & Happy Fishing,

Capt. Drew Nobregas
