Hey fishy people! This is captain Drew with a juicy report for you on how fishing has been here in the fabulous Florida Keys. As we work our way into the summer swing of things, there's several different species of fish that are best to target this time of year. With the yellowtail and mutton snapper spawn going on and grouper season in full swing, the reef has been red hot! It's not uncommon to come back with a bucket full of tasty snappers and grouper for some good ole fish sandwiches we all love. As for fishing out in Florida bay, the baby tarpon have been showing up in solid numbers. And if you want to take a real giant head on, now is the time to catch a tarpon over 100 pounds! We caught at least 1 tarpon every trip last week so it's nice that the fish have been cooperating. If you want to sight fish along the flats there has been fantastic bonefish and permit fishing to where a lot of the guides are catching double digits! If you're the family type and just want action, the sharks, sea trout, and mangrove snapper fishing has been steady every day as well and it's very possible to catch over 100 fish just in a 6 hour trip! Due to the heat, 4 to 6 hours on the water has been plenty of time to catch a nice batch of fish. Get out there while the getting is good!
